Paul Swank, the principal of Swank Consulting Services is a former claims executive with extensive domestic and international multi-line background in personal, commercial, and excess & special risk lines of business including automobile, property, multi-peril, general liability, professional liability, and workers compensation. He holds both Casualty Claim Law Associate and Casualty Property Claim Law Associate professional designations.

Mr. Swank has been employed by a number of insurance and financial services groups in a variety of technical and executive-level positions. These include: Senior claims consultant with an international property and casualty consulting firm specializing in claim technical processes, procedures and management practices; Vice president of claims, member of the board of directors and corporate best practices chairperson for a US subsidiary of an international insurer; Senior vice president of claims for a Wall Street excess and surplus lines holding company; and Vice president of general liability claims for a national specialty program insurer.

 

Mr. Swank has been extensively involved in planning, organizing, staffing, directing and controlling claim operations for more than 25 years. His primary focus has been on handling methods and practices, loss and expense controls, technology integration, business process re-engineering, merger and acquisition due diligence, re-organizations and start-up activities.

In addition, Mr. Swank has been engaged in international project management involving asbestos litigation, provided expert litigation support involving claims handling practices and has been a speaker on the subject of construction defect claims handling at industry sponsored seminars.

Mr. Swank was elected to the Federation of Defense and Corporate Counsel (“FDCC”) membership in 1997. The FDCC is composed of leaders in the legal and insurance community. Federation members have been judged by their peers to have achieved professional distinction, and are committed to promoting knowledge, fellowship, and professionalism. FDCC members are experienced attorneys and insurance industry leaders who are actively engaged in the administration and defense of civil litigation from throughout the world. In 1992 Mr. Swank was named to Who’s Who Worldwide Registry of individuals demonstrating leadership and achievement in their profession.
